Destination Tuscany: Borgo San Pietro

Nestled in the rolling hills of the Tuscan countryside, Borgo San Pietro is truly a hidden gem. Here you will find a 13th century villa that has been transformed into a into a peaceful and luxurious hideaway. The property is full of old world charm with winding gardens, salt pools, a tree house and a working farm. With beautiful landscapes and the rustic charm of Tuscany, we feel in love! We had the opportunity to stop here for a couple of days while traveling through Tuscany and couldn't help but imagine it as the perfect wedding destination...

You can see more of this beautiful location featured on Entouriste and if you are still in the mood for more of Italy you can see Lina and Daniele's Tuscany wedding here.

An Oyster + Champagne Engagement in California, Joanne + Johnny

Thank you so much to Sara Amos Films for coming along to capture it all on Super 8...

For me, engagement sessions are all about creating unique photographs that tell the love story of the people in them. Our afternoon adventure with Joanne and Johnny led us from San Francisco along the coast to Point Reyes and did just that. On the weekends, these San Francisco natives love to jump in the car and explore what Northern California has to offer - especially the amazing cuisine. One of their favorite stops is Hog Island Oyster Company and after spending the afternoon with them there, I can see why! We had such a wonderful afternoon exploring and shooting and we can't wait for their wedding this summer.

Be sure to head over to Grey Likes Weddings to see more of this session featured there today!

With the holidays around the corner there is always so much to look forward to and one of my favorite things about this time of year (apart from the food, music, decorations....) is the release of the annual Southern Weddings Magazine! For the second year in a row, I'm so grateful to have had the opportunity to collaborate with such a genuine, sweet and talented group of women who make up the Southern Weddings team. This year, we headed to Southern Weddings headquarters in Chapel Hill, North Carolina to photograph in their own backyard; corn, cows, biscuits and all! It was so much fun and really had us craving a little extra time to relax on the front porch and take it all in...

We're so excited to have our shoot featured in the brand new issue of Southern Weddings and in the spirit of the holidays and giving, want to share this amazing magazine with THREE lucky readers!!! To win, like us on facebook AND leave us a comment below to tell us about your southern wedding or what you are grateful for this year. We will select three of you this Wednesday, November 27th at 5 pm EST and contact you directly to ship your magazine to you! Good Luck!!

Be sure to head over to Southern Weddings to see all of the images from this shoot as well as the full behind-the-scenes!

Nothing is more honorable than a grateful heart. -Seneca

We have so much to be grateful for this year... our health, our loved ones, to be able to wake up everyday and do something that inspires, challenges and fulfills us, for travel, for the amazing couples that ask us to document their love, for a country that has provided us the opportunity to follow our dreams, for the men and women that make that possible, for the food that we will cook and share laughs over, for the roof over our heads, for the animals that make our lives warmer, for the beauty that surrounds us everyday, for each other, for the journey....

A Destination Wedding in Paris ~ Julie + Eric

I think it's easy for everyone to unanimously agree that Paris is one of the most romantic cities in the world. There is something that lingers in the air which takes us all back in time. It is a city that inspires me and makes me feel connected to another era, a more simple and romantic time...

Julie and Eric chose to marry in Paris for many of these same reasons and ultimately followed their hearts to France. They planned an intimate destination wedding and brought along their closest family and friends. Julie, a wedding planner by trade and owner of Strawberry Milk Events, drew her inspiration from Marie Antoinette and the fascinating history of Paris. They exchanged vows in a chapel built in 1816 in honor of Marie Antoinette, who inspired everything from the programs and decor to the reception location where she once took piano lessons. It was truly a magical celebration that I was honored to capture...

Thank you so much to Martha Stewart Weddings for featuring this wedding in their Fall issue, you can see more of it here. And more recently thank you to Style Me Pretty for the two part feature of their wedding and story which you can see here and here.

"Blame it or praise it, there is no denying the wild horse in us." - Virginia Woolf

As we enter into the Chinese Year of the Horse it seems like the perfect time to share some of my recent horse photography. Horses have been a lifelong passion and I photograph them as often as I can. I was thrilled when I was asked to follow polo horse of the year, La Corcha, for a day along with her rider Facundo Pieres. It was fascinating to see a day in the life of the world's top polo player and his ponies. The images are featured on the cover and inside the 2014 IPC Magazine. You can also see more of my equine photography here and here. Cheers to the Year of the Horse, it's destined to be a great one!

Earlier this winter we traveled north to photograph Leigh Ann and Matt's engagement session in their hometown of Chicago. On the afternoon of our shoot the temperatures hung in the single digits and light snow showers quickly turned into a blizzard. The snow was so beautiful and romantic; it was as if Chicago had turned into our own personal snow globe.
I can't wait for Leigh Ann and Matt's wedding this fall, this time in sunny Florida...

You can see more of this wintery engagement session featured on Style Me Pretty here.

A Pennsylvania Farm Wedding, Alanna + Craig

I'm so excited to finally share Alanna and Craig's classic Pennsylvania farm wedding in it's entirety! Though their wedding was almost two years ago (wow, time flies!) it just shows how timeless their celebration was as it's still as stylish as ever. With a small town and beautiful farm as their backdrop, their soft palette of neutrals, elegant touches and beautiful sail tent all fit together flawlessly.

One of my favorite wedding moments to date was while shooting Alanna and Craig's portraits in a tall grassy field next to their wedding. While shooting I glanced down to see a tiny spotted fawn a few inches from my feet, I almost stepped on the darling! I was able to get a quick photo (see above) before the little guy woke, let out a cry for mom and scampered away. We were all awe struck at the beautiful moment and it was made even more special as Craig's nickname for Alanna is 'fawny' after the way she looks when walking in heels with her long, thin legs. I couldn't believe it; truly something I will never forget!!

Their wedding was featured in the winter issue Martha Stewart Weddings and most recently on Style Me Pretty, you can see it all here. Thank you so much to them both for highlighting this beautiful celebration!
